Sneak Peek At Leaks From State Budget
Some early morning leaks today on the State budget which will be handed down in Sydney today, with Treasurer Mike Baird to announce a record spent of hundreds of millions of dollar for the Princes Highway. The money will go to a raft of projects, some already started, and others in the planning stage. Kiama MP Gareth Ward says the money will be spent in the six electorates from Wollongong to the border. The Projects include: Foxground and Berry Bypass (2013/14 onwards ) $170 million Princes Motorway (Mount Ousley Road Climbing lanes) $4 million Albion... Read more
P Plater Madness On The Hume Highway – 200 KPH Plus
A P plater has been arrested and charged after being pulled over for doing more than 200 KPH on the Hume Highway. A Mittagong Highway Patrol officer clocked the red Volkswagen Golf at 204 KPH in a 110 zone just after midnight yesterday. Not only was the driver's licence suspended on the spot, but the number plates were confiscated from the vehicle as well. The man has been ordered to appear in Moss Vale Local Court on July 18. Massive Boulders Dragged Out Of Highway Rock Face
Massive boulders have been dragged from the side of Clyde Mountain as the Kings Highway is being closed again today is closed again for the next round of remediation works. The work is being undertaken at the site of a landslide which happened last year near Pooh Bear Corner, between Batemans Bay and Braidwood. The Kings Highway is closed continuously from 8am today (Tuesday) until 5pm Thursday, with further work planned on the same days next week. More than 75 tonnes of rock was removed on one day alone.
