Shoalhaven River Bridge Re-Opened

Saturday, 09 June 2012 13:49

The bridge over the Shoalhaven River on the Nowra Goulburn back road has been re-opened to traffic following a series of closures.

The bridge was first closed last month following the near failure of key timber components .

After two weeks of repairs it was re-opened earlier this week, but then had to be closed again because of flooding, with water almost a metre over  the top of the deck.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council says the water level has receded and the bridge is again carrying traffic, although there is still a 5 tonne weight limit.
