Another Two Arrests Over Nowra Van Park Shooting

willows van park police raid More than half a dozen  people have now been charged in connection with the shooting of a man at a Nowra Caravan Park earlier this year.

30 year old Alexander Lindsay has been left a permanent paraplegic after the shooting, which happened at the doorway of an on-site cabin at the Willows Caravan Park, near the Nowra bridges,  back in February.

 

 

willows van park two A Tomerong man has been charged with attempted murder and six others with various offences related to the shooting.

The latest charges have seen the arrest of a 27 year old woman and a 28 year old man, both from Old Erowal Bay.

They have been charged with being accessories before and after the fact of shooting with intent to murder, and concealing a serious indictible offence.

The 28 year old man has also  been charged with un-related drug matters.

Both appeared in court yesterday after being refused bail, when they were initially charged.

Man Charged After Two Arson Attacks At South Coast House

A man has been charged after two arson attacks at a south coast house yesterday. The fires broke out at a house in Fowlers Road Dapto. On the first occasion a fire started under the home yesterday morning, and was extinguished before it could take a hold. Later the same afternoon a second fire started and caused a damage to the exterior, before it was put out. On both occasions the occupants of the house, a man and a woman, escaped un-hurt. A 50 year old man has been charged with two counts of arson and refused bail. Read more

Plans to develop Sydney's second international airport at Wilton between Mittagong and Campbelltown may be dead in the water, after plans were announced for a new residential city. The federal government has been investigating Wilton, but may be thwarted by a state announcement of plans for a possible new city of 12,000 new homes. Canberra is not keen on the original choice of Badgery's Creek near Liverpool, while Pmier BarryO'Farrell favours no sites within the Sydney Basin, and thinks Canberra is a better idea. More Federal Funds Available For Council Projects

Wingecarribee Council will get another chance to apply for federal infrastructure funding with the commonwealth adding an extra $150 million to the scheme. Infrastructure Minister Anthony Albanese says the funding will be provided under the government's regional development Australia Fund and Livable Cities programs. The funding can only be used to build and renew community infrastructure such as sporting facilities, libraries, town halls, playgrounds and essential services like childcare centres. However, to secure the new federal funding, councils must apply under the relevant program by July 22. Read more
