Warning Older Model Mobile Phones May Stop Working

mobile phone Telstra is warning locals with older model mobile phones they may no longer get full service from the end of August

In just under two months  Telstra will be switching off their old 3G network which runs on the 2100Mhz Band

SMS and standard calls will still work in some areas, but not all services will be available.

Mobiles on the Telstra's new  NEXT G network will not be affected at all

Next G devices should also be switched  to "Automatic" rather than "3Telstra"

Telstra Local Business Development Specialist Tony Naumovski  says customers effected have been notified.

Mc Donalds wants to develop the family restaurant on the site of an old car yard beside the Illawarra Highway and Bowral Moss Vale Road roundabout. An application for the development was lodged almost a year ago, but council has told the company its design plans are not of a standard it would expect for a ' gateway ' site into Moss Vale. Councillor Slams Security Cameras – $150,000 Wasted

Nowra's security cameras are back on line after the passage of special legislation through state parliament enabling them to be reactivated, but not all councillors are happy, one saying the system is a waste of money. Council de-commissioned the cameras earlier this year following action taken by south coast civil rights Adam Bonner in the Administrative Decisions Tribunal. The security cameras came back to life on Friday but councillor Jim Mc Crudden says he has major issues in relation to the invasion of people's privacy and the lack of clarity of images produced by the system.
