Luxury Cruiser Heading For Jervis Bay This Weekend

pacific pearl P&O's luxury  Pacific Pearl  will be visiting  Jervis Bay this weekend, as part of a three day food and wine cruise which departs  Sydney this evening.

The 70,000 tonne Pacific Pearl can carry almost 2,000 passengers and will be anchored in the bay tomorrow and Sunday.

The exact location will be dependent on the prevailing winds, but most cruise ships anchor off the eastern shore near the Beecroft Peninsula.

She will depart late Sunday, and arrive back in Sydney the following morning.

pacific jewel The Pearl's visit follows the stop over by the Pacific Jewel a few weeks ago.....she was  on a comedy cruise.

Planned Quarry Dead In The Water – For Now

The developer of a proposed basalt quarry between Marulan and Goulburn  has run out of time to lodge  appeal over the rejection of the development. Figtree Reserve Proprietary Limited wanted to develop the quarry at Towrang, but it was rejected by Goulburn Mulwaree Council based on concerns about increased  traffic movements  and noise from the operation. The company lodged an appeal in the Land and Environment Court, which supported council's decision. Goulburn Mulwaree Council's Director of Planning CHRIS STEWART says company had the right to appeal the court's decision, but the window of opportunity has closed.
