Work Set To Start On Junction Court As Old Gum Goes

junction mall tree Work on the demolition and  re-development of Nowra's dilapidated and controversial Junction Court will commence later this month, but will result in the removal of a tall and stately gum tree.

As part of the project one way eastbound traffic will return to Junction Street between Kinghorn Street and O'Connell's Lane.

 

Junction Court Bubbler The remainder of the area taken up by the existing mall will be landscaped and new street furniture installed.

The weekend after next ( 18-19/8)  the old gum outside the N.A.B. will be removed, after the bank complained the tree was dropping leaves and branches on the building, and damaging pavements.

 

junction crt Mayor Paul Green says the landscaping and new trees will be installed by the end of the year, but returning traffic to the area will take longer.

He says studies will have to be done to satisfy Roads and Maritime Services requirements for changes to the traffic flow at the Junction Street and O'Connell's Lane intersections

In what has been described as a million to one chance two sailors who went their separate ways after leaving high school in South Australia have graduated together in Nowra as naval helicopter aircrew men. Man Charged Over Lewd Sex Acts At Railway Station

A man has been charged over a series of  lewd sex acts on southern highlands rail line station earlier this week. On Wednesday  a group of girls were standing on the platform at Picton Railway Station when they allegedly saw a man acting  an indecent and offensive manner. The girls, all aged 16, got on the next train and later reported the matter to police. An elderly Shoalhaven man says he is shocked at threat to have security guards remove him from a meeting about a proposed motor racing track after he launched a passionate appeal to re-locate the circuit elsewhere. 66 year old Don Goodsell was one of about 60 people invited to a briefing by Motor Cycling New South Wales, which plans to develop the multi purpose track on a 130ha bush land site at Yerriyong near HMAS Albatross.
