| Power should be restored tonight Fri 8/7 |

Endeavour Energy crews from the south coast will travel to the highlands this morning to help restore supply to more than 2000 customers who have spent a third night without power. Areas still affected include Burrawang, Fitzroy Falls, Wildes Meadow, Myra Vale, Avoca, Belmore Falls, Kangaloon and sections of East Bowral, Willow Vale, Canyonleigh and Sutton Forest. Janine Cullen from Endeavour says extensive tree damage in some outlying areas has made it difficult to access power supplies, but they hope to have all customers connected by tonight. Due to the significant damage caused by the wind storms, Wingecarribee has been declared a natural disaster zone by the state government.
Minster for Police and Emergency Services, Michael Gallacher says a range of relief assistance measures are now available to local residents, businesses and farmers who have been directly impacted. While Macquarie Pass and Jamberoo Mountain Road have been re-opened, a number of roads across the Wingecarribee are still closed due to fallen trees. Council staff and contractors are working to clear those roads as soon as possible. As residents begin the clean-up, council has announced that any storm related green waste can be dropped off at the Resource Recovery Centre in Moss Vale for free until this Sunday (July 10).

Meeting Tonight On Region’s Great Environmental Mystery
A meeting will be held this evening to try and unravel one of the region's greatest environmental mysteries....what ever happened to the water in the Thirlmere Lakes north west of Mittagong. Water in the world heritage listed lakes dried up at the height of the drought, and while some has since returned, it is nothing like the levels of previous times when locals used to water ski in the area. Blame for the loss of the water was initially pointed at coal mining operations, but operators deny any responsibility. Tonight's meeting will hear... Read more
