A man has appeared Queanbeyan Local Court after a pursuit involving NSW and Australian Federal
Police south of Goulburn on Saturday.
Monaro Highway Patrol allegedly detected a blue Holden Commodore sedan travelling at 130km/h in a
110km/h zone on the Federal Highway at Bywong about 10.30 Saturday morning.
Police activated lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the driver allegedly failed to
comply.
Officers followed the vehicle into the ACT, where Australian Federal Police assisted NSW
counterparts..
Officers used road spikes in an attempt to stop the vehicle in the ACT, however the Commodore
travelled back into NSW via the Federal Highway.
NSW police deployed road spikes and finally stopped the car near Lake George.
A 19-year-old man was arrested and taken to Queanbeyan Police Station.
He has been charged with six offences: police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly; drive
vehicle recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous; expired licence; unregistered
vehicle; uninsured vehicle; and, displaying unauthorised number plates.
He was refused bail.
