Golf Ball Size Hail Hits Moss Vale

cloud There has been some wild weather across the coast and highlands overnight with a band of thunderstorms leaving a trail of destruction.

Moss Vale was the hardest hit with hail the size of golf balls hitting parts of the town. The hail smashed windows and left numerous cars with large dents.

On the coast and the Bay and Basin area, and in particular Sanctuary Point, bore the brunt of the damage.

The SES had 18 volunteers on duty and they responded to 15 calls for help, with most of the problems involving leaking roofs.

At Basin View a tree came down on part of a home, and in the process took out power lines as well.

The falls of rain have fluctuated wildly according to the intensity of the storm cells, but Kiama has recorded 48mm. Ulladulla 19 and Moss Vale 18

Man Stabbed At Moss Vale – Woman In Custody

A man is in a stable condition in hospital, and a woman in police custody,  following a stabbing in Moss Vale overnight. The incident happened in Anembo Street around 9.45. Police say a man aged in his 60's suffered superficial  stab wounds to the lower back and shoulder. The man was taken to Bowral Hospital, while a 58 year old woman was arrested and taken to Bowral Police Station. She is expected to be questioned later this morning. Read more
