Fuel Cost Increases Plunder Country Budgets

Tuesday, 19 June 2012 00:29

oaklands service station and house The -N-R-M-A says a survey showing the impact of rising petrol  prices proves drivers on the south coast and southern highlands should be looking at alternative fuels.

It's been revealed 62-per-cent of motorists are paying 50-dollars a week more for their petrol, than they were 12 months ago - causing a significant dent in their household budget.

Bomaderry's Manildra group is the nation's biggest producer of the alternative fuel additive ethanol, but says it is struggling because of the refusal of the state to force oil companies to enforce mandates.

N-R-M-A President WENDY MACHIN says Australia must stop relying on fuel imports
