Non Custodial Parents Stand For Throsby Election
The Non-Custodial Parents Party (Equal Parenting) has announced it will be contesting the federal seat of Throsby at the September 14 election. For the second time, Wayne Hartman will represent the party, after standing in Throsby during the 2010 election and receiving 1575 votes. The Non-Custodial Parents Party (Equal Parenting) was formed in 1998 to address issues around family law and child support. Blackspot Funds To Fix Highway Danger Spots
Two dangerous sections of the Illawarra Highway near Robertson are to be upgraded, following a $200,000 funding allocation from the Federal Government's blackspot program. Throsby MP Stephen Jones says half of the money will go towards the installation of a w-beam guardrail on a 1.5 kilometre section of the Illawarra Highway, south of Tourist Road. The remaining $100,000 will be spent laying a high level non-skid road surface on two bends of the Illawarra Highway near Wilsons Road at Burrawang. Council Orders Urgent TLC For Iconic Momument
Quick action by a Wingecarribee Clr will see the Monument to Human Endeavour near the loopline north of Hilltop given a much needed spruce-up. During an interview with 2STs Graeme Day last week, Clr Duncan Gair promised to speak with staff about the state of the massive 37 tonne concrete sculpture on Wilson Drive near the Big Hill cutting. It was created by Balmoral sculptor, Joe Enfield to recognise the hard work by our early pioneers in cutting through the sandstone to create one of Australia's deepest railway cuttings.
