Fire Rips Through Bomaderry

One person has been treated for smoke inhalation after  fire raced through a block of units above the Bomaderry shopping centre this morning.

The fire broke out just before 2 , and after residents fled to safety on Meroo Street,  one person had to be treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.

Crews from Fire and Rescue New South Wales from Nowra managed to stop the flames from  spreading to four shops at street level  below.

One of the residents who was able to flee the flames says he thinks the fire started in an electric heater
