Your Rates to rise

Residents in Shoalhaven are set to be slugged with another increase in council rates.

Under a proposal for discussion tonight, rates will rise by 3.6%, which is the maximum allowable under the state government’s rate pegging legislation.

If council wanted a bigger increase it would have had to seek specific permission from The Minister for Local Government, but chose not to do so.
