Big Surprises In Gash’s Council Election Team

Gilmore MP Jo Gash has announced her team for the Shoalhaven Local Government elections, and it includes two former council executives, and a retired high ranking police officer and rescue volunteer.

The team has 13 candidates, standing in the three wards for the September 8 poll.

The candidates will be introduced at a ceremony to be held at the team office opposite the lower Junction Street  taxi rank, at 11 this morning.

Mrs Gash heads the ticket in ward two, where she is joined by former staffer Jemma Tribe, businesswoman Karen Anstiss, retired Nowra Public School principal Clive Robertson and Culburra Beach surf life saver Mitchell Pakes.

The Northern Ward one team is headed by former City Services Manager John Wells, business woman Lyn Kearney, wife of sitting councillor Gary Kearney, former police inspector, and marine rescue operator Bill Carter, and Lynne Locke from the Shoalhaven Turf Club.

Ward Three candidates are former Shoalhaven Arts Manager Alan Baptist, Ulladulla High School activist Patricia White, Dave Tarbet from Sussex Inlet and Gayle Dunn from the Dunn and Lewis Youth Centre.

Mrs Gash says she is particularly proud of the local government experience John Wells brings to the team.
