Nowra Bomaderry Explosion Remains A Mystery

Police and utility  providers have been unable to pin point the source of a large explosion which rocked the northern Shoalhaven early this morning.

The switchboard at the Nowra Police Station lit up about midnight with calls coming in from a wide area between East Nowra, Worrigee and Bomaderry.

Police say some residents described the blast as like an explosion, others say it was more reminiscent of a colour bond fence being shaken and push over.

Residents at Bomaderry reported seeing a bright flash towards the east but despite an extensive search police were unable to trace the source of the blast.

There were also no reports of any cuts to the power supply
