A new report says we're better off than we were 30 years ago, and the reason we're reportedly struggling financially is because we want too much. 30 years ago in 1982, there were no mobiles, internet,Ipods or Ipads. Today we are a generation of must have now. It’s little wonder our credit card debt in Australia is $49.3 billion and the average mortgage around $300k. The advances we’ve had in technology in the last 30 years is amazing and has helped us domestically and in business. Are you better off now than what you were 30 years ago? Could you live without today’s appliances .. wide screen TVs, computers, mobile phones? |

Ford to Cut 1,500 Jobs
Ford Australia has been given $1.1 billion in state and Federal Government assistance since 2000. Over the same period, Ford says it has invested $3.3 billion in design and engineering of future models. Ford will however keep the 1100 jobs in design and engineering, based at the Broadmeadows site, although those staff will now work solely on Ford’s foreign vehicles. ... Read more
