Shares Rebound After Monday’s Slump |

Shares shrugged off the rate cut by the Reserve Bank, which had been widely expected, but still ended strongly higher, rebounding from yesterday's slump. Today saw: The RBA cut the cash rate to 3.5% Qantas hit an all time low Economic data points to a patchy growth The market closed just below the day's high, clawing back most of yesterday's losses. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index jumped 58.7 points, or 1.5 per cent, to 4043.7, while the broader All Ords rose 59 points, or 1.5 per cent, to 4092.4. The dollar has climbed a bit and is now nudging 98 US cents, up from around 97.5 just before the rate cut. Here’s how some of the shares finished

You know there’s something wrong with our justice system and my heart goes out to the family of teenager Thomas Kelly who was killed by a brutal king hit in Kings Cross last year. Kieran Loveridge, 19, was charged with the king hit of Mr Kelly during a night out in Kings Cross in July last year.
