Ulladulla CBD concerns over new waste collection day

Thursday, 05 July 2012 14:33

I received this email from a business owner in the Ulladulla CBD.

“We are one of 8 businesses located at 134 Princes Highway Ulladulla. We will be forced to place 6 bins on the Princes Highway at 3pm, the close of business, on a Saturday afternoon.

These bins will block 3 parking spots. These bins will suffer from the Saturday and Sunday night yahoos tipping them over.

Who will clean up the mess? The bins will be an eyesore.

Long week ends will see bins left in the street an extra day.

Who decided tipped over garbage bins would look good in our CBD?”

To assist I spoke with Shoalhaven Mayor Paul Green and Deputy Mayor Andrew Guile and hopefully this will be resolved with SITA to arrange collection of waste during business hours of a Monday.

Ford will however keep the 1100 jobs in design and engineering, based at the Broadmeadows site, although those staff will now work solely on Ford’s foreign vehicles. The move means... Read more
