Who Are the Homeless?

Nowra Family Support Service is aiming to bring together the range of Community services within the Shoalhaven that can assist people who are homeless – to create awareness for homeless people in particular, and within the community in general.

Homeless People Week is on from the 6th August until the 12th August. Pam Arnold from Nowra Family Support Service talks about who are the homeless. This is a broader issue than you can imagine

How Do We Get Rid Of Cockroaches?

For decades, people have been getting rid of cockroaches by setting out bait mixed with poison. But in the late 1980s, in an apartment test kitchen in Florida, something went very wrong. A killer product stopped working. Cockroach populations there kept rising. Mystified researchers tested and discarded theory after theory until they finally hit on the explanation, many of the cockroaches had lost their sweet tooth, rejecting the corn syrup meant to attract them. Most of us, when we get hungry, we get very irritable and it's not a pleasant feeling. People who are vulnerable to anorexia have a different response to starvation, they find that it calms them Anorexia is a clinical eating disorder that affects one in every 100 adolescent girls but, it is also increasingly being diagnosed in middle-aged women and men. Forbes has just announced the 100 women with the most impact in the world. The list comprises top politicians and CEOs, activist billionaires and celebrities who matter.
