As a community we have lost one of our own. A good bloke to all and a great family man. No words need to be said, the feeling of loss like this can not be put into words. Geoff Clark’s sudden death has stunned us all. He was proud of his tow truck business and proud of living in the Highlands so much so he parked his newly sign written truck (the design was all about the Southern Highlands – the villages and towns) in front of the studios so I could see the great job they had done, only 3 weeks ago. We had a quick chat about how good it looked. He loved the place! Everyone that knew him, loved Geoff! Life is so finite. With this tragedy we need to pull together. Thank you to the Police, Ambulance and all Emergency Services that head out everyday not knowing what they will face and the affect it will have on them. We should set a day aside in the next few months to celebrate those who give each day to help someone just like Geoff did. Lets make it happen! |

Shame, Shame Shame!
We all should be hanging our heads in shame over what is known as “The Monument to Human Endeavour”. It’s on Wilson Drive at Big Hill Cutting just past Hill Top in the Southern Highlands. The structure is supposed to commemorate the achievements of the workers creating the Big Hill Cutting, one time the deepest railway cutting in Australia. During construction in 1863 an explosion killed 3 workers. This structure was built and donated but a local businessman. The Monument to Human Endeavour is on the gateway to the Southern Highlands on the back road from Thirlmere.... Read more
Kids benefit from Tulip Time 2013
The first bulbs for Tulip Time in September/October have been planted in Corbett Gardens. The funds this year will benefit Children’s Charities Canteen & The Kollege of Knowledge Komittee for Kids. Steve Rosa was the Master of Ceremonies with Tony Springett from the Kommitee for Kids saying a few words and Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Manager Jason Gordon getting his hands dirty and getting in to plant one of the first bulbs. Nice Day for a Trike Tour
A couple of weeks ago Matt and I were lucky enough to go for a ride around the Southern Highlands with John Ford from Highland Trike Tours. Although a bit rainy, it didn’t stop us John gave us some rain kit and we were off. It really is an enjoyable way to see the Highlands and get some fresh air! You can check them out HERE Read more
