Proposal for free pensioner collection - but there's a catch!

garbage

Wingecarribee Council is now seeking feedback from locals about providing a free collection service for pensioners.

Council is proposing to put in place one free clean up per year for around 3,700 pensioners.

To cover the cost of the free collection service, a four per cent increase in Domestic Waste Charges is being proposed on top of an additional 2.5 per cent increase for the existing domestic waste management service

For the average household this would equate to an additional $26.65 per year.

If the free clean up service doesn't progress, then only the 2.5 per cent rise would apply.
