Father Chris Riley: Delayed Reforms Bad for Young Offenders

There are grave fears for the well being of a number of young people in the Southern Highlands after the Department of Family and Community Services announced a delay in reforming out of care services.

Father Chris Riley from Youth off the Streets was told two months ago that his New Pathways program delivered locally, would be scrapped in favour of a new model.

It's now been revealed the new model won't come into effect until Christmas

Father Riley says young people need more stability and certainty.

He's laid the blame on Goulburn MP and Family and Community Services Minister Pru Goward.
