Patients and carers who frequent public hospitals across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven are set to see their parking fees slashed,

Car parking concessions will be made available at every public facility across the state as the government moves to combat exorbitant parking costs.

Frequent visitors will save up to 200 dollars a week.

While Parking at Shoalhaven District Hospital has always been free, Kiama MP Gareth Ward says it's the locals who make regular visits for specialist services in Wollongong and Sydney who'll reap the rewards.
