Bill Shorten highlights jobs and infrastructure as most critical issues during Nowra visit

Federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has used his visit to the Shoalhaven to warn of a tipping point in Australian Manufacturing as gas prices reach crisis levels and to highlight a need for infrastructure development.

Mr Shorten toured Bluescope Steels Port Kembla Operation, before making the trip to Nowra later in the day highlighting the importance of manufacturing to the local economy as well as a need to protect weekend penalty rates.

He says with tourism on the climb and thousands of people moving here to escape un-affordable housing in Sydney and Wollongong, he's finding ways to fund a Milton Ulladulla bypass and fast-track a new Nowra bridge.
