The Shoalhaven could be about to lose it's only dedicated Parkinson's Disease Nurse with Federal Government funding for the position to be cut.

Nina Cheyne has held the position for the last two and a half years and has told Fairfax Media she's now concerned about how her 450 patients will be looked after with no one else for them to see locally.

The $80,000 annual funding was provided by the Federal Governments Primary Health Network known as Coordinaire and Parkinson's New South Wales.

Miss Cheyne was the only neurological nurse educator in the region, saving patients a trip to Sydney.
