Shelley Hancock describes Scott Morrison comments re Princes Highway funding as "left field"

bypass 2

South Coast MP Shelley Hancock has described comments made by Federal Treasurer Scott Morrison during his Nowra visit as left field.

Mr Morrison was questioned about why the Federal Government hasn’t invested more in the Princes Highway upgrade.

He suggested the State Government sell its stake in the Snowy Hydro Scheme back to the Commonwealth, using the proceeds of that sale to fund major infrastructure projects such as the Princes highway.

Ms Hancock says she’s disappointed in the comments.

"I would have thought that the Federal Government and I think they did in some of their comments. recognise the enormous expenditure from the State Government on the Princes Highway", Ms Hancock said.

"We have been spending all of the money that's seen upgrading works occurring, what we're both saying is that we actually need some input from the Federal Government as well", she said.
