Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling on young people and the wider community to share feedback on the draft Young Wingecarribee 2025-2029 Plan, now on public exhibition.
With more than 7,150 residents aged 12 to 24, over 13 per cent of our population, young people play a vital role in shaping the future of Wingecarribee.
This Plan outlines Counci’s commitment to supporting their wellbeing, goals and sense of belonging.
Built from the ground up through conversations with more than 700 young people, as well as input from teachers, parents, carers and local youth services, the draft plan respond to what matters most to our youth.
Each theme includes clear goals and practical actions, all aligned with state and national
youth strategies, to ensure our young people are supported, empowered and included in local life.
Mayor Jesse Fitzpatrick said the plan is a reflection of Council’s strong commitment to
listening and acting on the needs of young people.
“Young people are at the heart of Wingecarribee’s future, and they’ve helped share this
plan every step of the way,” Mayor Fitzpatrick said.
“We’ve heard their hopes, frustrations and big ideas. Now it’s time for the whole
community to get involved and let us know if we’ve got it right.”
The draft Young Wingecarribee 2025–2029 plan is on public exhibition from Monday 26
May to Monday 23 June 2025.
Community members are encouraged to view the plan and provide feedback via Council’s Participate Wingecarribee website.
Feedback collected during the exhibition period will help finalise the plan due to be adopted later this year.
