Council is undertaking a flood study and completing a risk management plan to understand the flooding and determine strategies for mitigation options.

The first step is to fully understand the flood behaviour and identify the risks it presents.

Council has commissioned environmental planning and infrastructure advisory experts Rhelm to undertake the Flood Study.

An important part of this study is the involvement of those people who’ve experienced flooding of Spring Creek.

This Flood Study will improve understanding of flood behaviour and risk and also help in developing a Flood Risk Management Plan, which may include mitigation measures such as development controls, infrastructure improvements or community awareness and preparedness.
