New data reveals nearly 3,000 residents in the Shoalhaven are estimated to be living with dementia, a number that’s projected to reach nearly 5,000 by 2054.
They’re among nearly 450,000 Australians currently living with dementia, with that figure projected to more than double to over one million people by 2065.
Dementia Australia CEO, Professor Tanya Buchanan, says the latest estimates highlight the need for urgent funding and support, especially in regional communities.
