A man has been seriously injured following a plane crash at Berrima this morning.
Emergency crews were called to Medway Road just before 8am after reports a recreational aircraft had crashed in a paddock.
The pilot and sole occupant had been trapped in the wreckage for some time before being freed and treated at the scene, the 58 year old then airlifted to a Sydney hospital for further treatment.

Aviation authorities have been notified as investigations continue.
