Former officer charged – Southern Region

The 45-year-old former senior constable, who was attached to a command in the Southern Region, was issued with a Court Attendance Notice yesterday, for two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police will allege in court the former officer, who was on-duty at the time, assaulted a 21-year-old man during an arrest at Sanctuary Point on Friday January 11, 2019.

He is due to appear in Nowra Local Court in April.

The officer left the NSW Police Force in 2020.

Investigations continue into vicious assault

Police have released an image of a vehicle of interest as investigations continue into the serious assault of a man at Tahmoor last month.

About 5am on Monday December 27 2021, emergency services were called to a carpark in Thirlmere Way.

Police found a 20-year-old man with serious head and facial injuries.

The man was taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he was placed in an induced coma.

He has since been released.

Officers from the Camden Police Area Command set up a crime scene and have started an investigation.

Police have released an image of a vehicle of interest, which is a small blue hatchback.

Police were told the vehicle was seen in the Tahmoor area at the time of the alleged assault.

It was later found burnt out.

Officers are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Man in coma after assault in Tahmoor

Police are seeking information about a vicious assault which took place at Tahmoor last week and left a man in a coma.

About 5am Monday December 27, Emergency Services were called to a carpark in Thirlmere Way, where they found a 20 year old man with serious facial and head injuries.

Officers from the Camden Police Area Command established a crime scene and started an investigation into the circumstances of the assault.

Police have been told a small hatchback was seen to arrive and leave the scene during the alleged assault.

Police want to speak with witnesses, or anyone with knowledge of the incident, vehicles or occupants.

They should contact Camden Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police investigating serious assault in Nowra

Police are seeking information about a serious assault which took place in Nowra.

About 10pm on Saturday, a 28 year old woman attended a licensed premises on Junction Street, before being found outside the venue a couple of hours later by friends, who took her home.

When the woman woke up the following day, she discovered she'd suffered a serious assault, but had no knowledge of the circumstances.

She received treatment at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on Monday, before contacting Police.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Nowra Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Sexual assault on the rise across the Shoalhaven according to latest figures

South Coast Council areas have seen mixed results in the latest crime statistics report.

The Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands experienced a major increase in reports of sexual assault during March, according to the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research.

The report released yesterday show the Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands had an average of 13 reported sexual assaults each month, but that nearly doubled to 25 during March.

Officials praised the courage of victims and survivors who have come forward.

They believe the increased number of reports has been influenced by several high-profile cases that have drawn intense media coverage.

Kiama has seen a drop in non-domestic violence-related assault, but there's been an increase in malicious damage to property.

There's an increase in sexual assault and fraud across Shellharbour, but a drop in break and enters, and steal from motor vehicle.

Two men charged with serious assault in Tahmoor

Two men have been charged in connection with an alleged assault at Tahmoor.

Just after 4am on Monday December 27, emergency services were called to a carpark on Thirlmere Way.

Police found a 20-year-old man with serious head and facial injuries.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he was placed in an induced coma.

He has since been released.

Officers from the Camden Police Area Command set up a crime scene and started an investigation with a small hatchback later found burnt out in a nearby carpark

A 26-year-old man was arrested about 5pm yesterday in Campbelltown.

The man, from Airds, was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with the following

* assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s) and dishonestly for gain damage property by fire/explosive.

A second man, also aged 26, was arrested at Campbelltown police station at 8.05pm yesterday and charged with the following:

* Assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s) and dishonestly for gain damage property by fire/explosive.

The Lumeah man was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm for a separate offence in January.

Both men were refused bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court today.

Two separate assaults in Huskisson

Two men have been charged with alleged assault following separate incidents in Huskisson.

Just after 11pm on Friday, Police were called to a licensed premises on Owen Street, after reports of a brawl outside.

Police were called to help move the crowd on.

An 18-year-old man was found on the roadway suffering a head injury.

He was treated by Paramedics and taken to Shoalhaven Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Police have been told the injured man was allegedly assaulted before he was deliberately tripped, causing him to fall and strike his head on the ground.

An 18-year-old man was arrested after approaching police.

While dispersing the crowd with the assistance of hotel security, a man was seen to punch a security officer in the face after being asked to leave.

OC spray was used and a 19-year-old man was also arrested.

Both men were taken to Nowra Police Station.

The younger one was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and granted conditional bail to appear at Nowra Local Court on Monday October 25 2021.

Vicious assault at Lake Tabourie

South Coast Police are seeking information about an assault which took place at Lake Tabourie.

About 12:30am Saturday January 1, ( New Years morning ), a man was allegedly attacked by two other men while on his way back to a caravan park.

The victim suffered cuts, bruising and had a number of teeth knocked out.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Ulladulla Police on 4454 8599.
