Wingecarribee Mayor DUNCAN GAIR is hoping to meet with critics of the council saying his door is always open.
The council is under a Performance Improvement Order, with advisors sent in by the Office of Local Government, following claims the worsening behaviour of councillors has made the day to day business of council almost unworkable.
Among the leading critics of the council are a group of community associations joining together under the banner 'Friends of Wingecarribee' who issued a statement earlier this month calling on the Minister for Local Government to come down even harder on the council.
In response the Mayor has issued his own statement saying he's tried to contact Friends of Wingecarribee to hear their concerns first hand, but they have declined his offer.
Meantime the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be held at an extraordinary meeting of council tomorrow afternoon.
