Theft & vandalism in Colo Vale

colo vale vandalism november 25 2021

Police have been contacted about a number of vandalism and theft incidents at Colo Vale.

Between November 9 and 11 the culprits attempted to take the bronze ADF emblem at the war memorial, tried to gain access to the men's shed and broke a number of locks at the hall.

A push bike was also taken and Men's Shed Coordinator Steve Clarke said it's incredibly frustrating.

"We're all working really hard as all volunteers do,

"Our hall is actually owned by the community and is not council owned, as some people think,"Mr. Clarke said.

Locals residents are being asked to keep an eye out for any suspicious behaviour in the area.

Thieves grab and run in Berry

Police are reminding us to keep our property safe after more than 10 reports of thefts from motor vehicles in Berry in just one night this week.

Many of these vehicles are believed to have been left unlocked.

Police are urging the community to 'lock it or lose it'. Always ensure your car is locked with the windows left up. Don't leave anything of value in view, and better still remove any valuable items from your car - even when it's parked at home.

The majority of these crimes are opportunistic and unfortunately there are people in our community who will take advantage of others.

Anyone with information that may help police in investigating these types of offences is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
