Vinnies Community Sleepout
Southern Highlands invites you to rise to the challenge for our annual Vinnies Community Sleepout. Local business and community representatives from across the Southern Highlands will come together in solidarity to spend a night in the cold to support those in our community who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Homelessness doesn’t just happen because of one thing; it can be so many of life’s pressures which can ultimately lead to individuals and families finding themselves without a safe place to call home. Vinnies Community Sleepout events are held across NSW during winter to help raise awareness and much-needed funds to support those at risk of homelessness. With the support of participants and their sponsors, the Southern Highlands event aims to raise $14,000 to facilitate the continuation and expansion of programs and services that aid in the prevention of homelessness through emergency relief and financial assistance; and address social isolation through support, advocacy and referral. We encourage local businesses and community groups to get involved – either as participants or by sponsoring someone who makes the commitment to sleep out – and show their support for locals in need in the Southern Highlands. How you can help Please help us realise our goal of raising $14,000 so that we are able to continue helping those who need it the most.
