Wingecarribee Shire Council advises motorists of a temporary full road closure of Bong
Bong Road, between Old South Road and Maxted Street, Mittagong, to carry out
essential rehabilitation works from 8 September 2025 until Friday 12 September 2025.
The closure is required to rebuild a deteriorated section of road pavement on the bend.
This construction method enables works to be completed in just a few days, minimising
longer-term disruption.
The existing 10-tonne load limit remains in place on Old South Road. Heavy vehicles may only use this route if their destination is located on Old South Road.

Detours will be clearly signposted. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
