The National Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a hazard reduction burn on the southern edge of Fitzroy Falls from today in the Morton National Park.
The 450 hectare burn is all about reducing naturally accumulated fuel loads in the park.
The West Rim walking tracks and the Redhills fire trail will be closed for the duration of the burn.
Smoke maybe in the area and motorists are being asked to exercise caution, particularly along Nowra Road.
People who have breathing difficulties should also stay indoors.
