Highlands paramedics launch professional recognition campaign

Highlands Paramedics have chalked up all of their ambulance vehicles as part of a statewide professional recognition campaign.

Paramedics in NSW are currently the lowest paid in Australia.

Health Services Union delegate for the Highlands Matt Anderson said they deserve better.

“Queensland Paramedics who have the same skill sets as NSW Paramedics, currently earn $14,000 more per year,

“We don’t think we’re asking for much, but at the moment the NSW Government has indicated those skills aren’t worth as much,”Mr Anderson said.

He’s also asking locals for their support.

“If you do see a chalked up ambulance in town and the paramedics aren’t on a job, you can definitely ask them about the campaign,”Mr. Anderson said.
