A very busy day for firefighting crews across the Southern Highlands with responses to grass fires as well as undertaking an important hazard reduction burn at Alpine.
A grass fire on Menangle Road, Menangle saw a significant response from both the RFS & Fire and Rescue NSW, including two waterbombing aircraft, to bring the 70 hectare grass fire under control.
This fire is now contained with RFS crews still on scene working to extinguish remaining hotspots.

Local RFS crews also assisted Fire and Rescue NSW with a grass fire at Burradoo.
This fire was quickly extinguished once crews could gain access.
