There have been some developments regarding the future of Wakefield Park in Goulburn.
The owners of Pheasant Wood Circuit at Marulan have announced that they’ve now acquired the facility from the Benalla Auto Group.
In addition to this, Liberal MP Wendy Tuckerman is committing $5 million dollars towards its re – opening.
Steve Whyte from the Benalla Auto Group believes it’s a good outcome.
“We’ve been able to secure an arrangement with Steve Shelley from Pheasant Wood Circuit,
“Steve is motorsport savvy and will be able to continue the motorsport legacy in the shire,”Mr. Whyte said.
Meantime Labor Candidate for Goulburn Michael Pilbrow has released a statement, following the announcements, and said it’s a step in the right direction.
However he also said it’s disappointing that Ms. Tuckerman waited until the eve of an election to make what he believes is a fairly vague statement.
