The Master Plumbing Association has thrown it’s support behind the Premier – backing his refusal to adopt a ban on gas in all homes across the state.
It comes after the Victorian Government announced it’s plan on Friday to ban gas in all newly built homes from January next year.
CEO of the Plumbing Association and former Member for Wollondilly Nathaniel Smith said it’s just not viable for the region.
“If you said tomorrow, there’d be a blanket ban on gas in the Southern Highlands, people would be hitting Bong Bong Street with placards over their central heating,
“The area isn’t exactly the warmest place in the world, we’re about five degrees cooler than Sydney,
“I believe people should have options,”Mr. Smith said.
