Wingecarribee Council has rejected criticism, after it went into a closed session during last week’s extraordinary meeting regarding the Repoly Land and Environment Court appeal.
Residents are angry they weren’t allowed to speak before the closed session. Council said no written applications were received and in these circumstances, the Mayor is not required to call for speakers from the floor.

It said the meeting won’t be reconvened and decisions taken on 12 August 2025 are valid.
In a statement Council said it takes allegations of unlawful conduct seriously and firmly rejects any suggestion it acted outside the requirements of the Local Government Act and Council’s Code of Meeting Practice and any suggestion otherwise is unfounded.
