40 fire fighters have worked overnight to contain a bush fire at Crookhaven Heads. Firefighters conducted a small tactical back burn as the fire was difficult to access and risked burning out the entire headland.
The Crookhaven Heads lookout sustained minor damage as a result of the fire, however no other property came under direct threat.
RFS crews will continue to patrol the area today, checking for hotspots, ahead of warmer and windy conditions forecast to return over the coming days.
