The Southern Highlands’ most iconic trees are ready for their close-up. Wingecarribee
Shire Council has announced that the 2026 Eucalyptus Photo Competition is officially open, and we are calling on residents of all ages to share their best shots of
majestic gum trees.
From the intricate textures of peeling bark to the expansive canopy of a forest giant, this
competition celebrates the unique character of the Eucalyptus that defines our local
landscape.
Categories and Prizes:
- Primary School: Local nursery voucher.
- Secondary School: Local nursery voucher.
- Open: A Eucalyptus tree to plant and cherish.
Entries close Monday 23 March 2026 and winners will be announced on Wednesday 25
March 2026.
While out capturing the beauty of our bushland, Council reminds all photographers to “tread lightly”, leave only footprints and take only photographs.
