Wingecarribee Shire Council’s DAISY Artificial Intelligence (AI) planning assistant will be progressively removed from Council’s website this week, following the completion of its pilot.
DAISY (Development Application Information System) was launched in May 2025 through the NSW Government’s Early Adopter Grant Program, making Wingecarribee the first NSW council to develop, test and launch an AI-powered planning customer enquiry tool.
Over the course of the pilot, DAISY was used by the community to access planning information and guidance around residential Development Applications.
The pilot provided Council with valuable insights into how AI can help people access planning information and navigate the early stages of the DA process, as well as where improvements are needed.
Wingecarribee Shire Council’s General Manager Lisa Miscamble said Council had already achieved significant progress in Development Application processing, with the DAISY pilot providing valuable insights for the next use of AI.
“Council has already made significant progress in Development Application processing, with strong results reflecting the achievements of our Planning team,” Ms Miscamble said.
In July, 89 per cent of 35 Development Applications were determined within the NSW Government’s expected timeframe. That is 20 percentage points above the NSW average of 69 per cent, and the highest monthly result since July 2024.
“The DAISY pilot has also given us valuable insights into how AI can support planning services. We will use these learnings to inform the next evolution of AI, with a focus on improving the quality and efficiency of Development Application assessment.”

processing times by September 2026.
