Wingecarribee Shire Council is inviting the community to have their say on two future
funding options to help plan for the Shire’s needs over the next 10 years.
The options include continuing under the annual rate peg only or applying to IPART for a Special Rate Variation to increase investment in roads, buildings and other community infrastructure.
Residents are encouraged to attend a community drop-in session to learn more about the options, ask questions and share their feedback with Mayor Jesse Fitzpatrick, General Manager Lisa Miscamble and Council staff.
The drop-in sessions are informal community conversations. Community members are
welcome to arrive at any time during the advertised session, stay for as little or as long
as they wish, ask questions, listen to the discussion, browse information or use the Rates Calculator.
A Rates Calculator is available to help property owners understand what the proposed SRV under Option 2 could mean for their individual rates.
Wingecarribee Mayor Jesse Fitzpatrick encouraged residents to find out what the options could mean for them and share their views.
“This is an important conversation about how we continue to maintain the roads, buildingsand essential infrastructure our community relies on every day,” Mayor Fitzpatrick said.
“These sessions are a chance for people to drop in, ask their own questions and better
understand what the two options could mean for them, their property and the wider Shire.
“No decision has been made. We want residents to look at the information, use the Rates Calculator and provide feedback in the way that suits them best, whether that is at a drop in session, online, by survey or through a written submission.
