Lifeline South Coast has celebrated the official opening of its newest retail shop in Kiama on Wednesday 1 July, with a special Open Day welcoming locals to explore the new store, meet the team, and support a cause that saves lives.

The new shop will provide the community with a welcoming place to shop quality pre-loved clothing, books, homewares and more, with every purchase helping to fund Lifeline South Coast’s crisis support and suicide prevention services across the Illawarra and South Coast.

“We’re thrilled to officially open our doors in Kiama and become part of this wonderful community,” said Lifeline South Coast CEO Renee Green.

“Our retail shops are so much more than places to shop. They’re places where people connect, where generous donations are given a second life, and where every purchase helps ensure someone in our community can access support when they need it most.”

The Open Day gave community members the opportunity to browse the store’s carefully curated range of pre-loved treasures, meet staff and volunteers, and learn more about how the shop supports Lifeline South Coast’s essential services. Customers can also sign up to their Loyalty Program, which rewards shoppers with $1 credit for every $20 spent.

The organisation has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the Kiama community, with an incredible response of donations helping to stock the shelves ahead of opening.

“We’ve already been welcomed with such warmth and generosity,” Ms Green said.

Lifeline South Coast also continues to welcome expressions of interest from people who would like to volunteer in the new store. Volunteers play a vital role in the success of Lifeline’s retail operations, helping to raise the funds needed to support local people experiencing crisis.
