Intersection Upgrade Access to BongBong Common

October 2, 2025 9:35 am in by

Construction to upgrade the Bong Bong Common intersection located at Moss Vale Road and Cecil Hoskins Access Road, Burradoo is set to commence on Monday 13 October.

Delivered by Wingecarribee Shire Council, in consultation with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), the upgrade provides a dedicated left-hand turning lane for southbound traffic and a right-hand turning lane for northbound traffic entering Bong Bong Common.

The works also include widening of the roadway, slope stabilisation, installation of
guardrails, drainage upgrades, and road resurfacing. This will provide improved traffic flow and safer access to Bong Bong Common, Cecil Hoskins Nature Reserve, and surrounding residential areas.

The upgrade follows the adoption of the Bong Bong Common Masterplan in May 2019,
which set out the long-term development and maintenance of this unique open space.
Deputy Mayor Erin Foley said that the upgrade would deliver lasting benefits to the
community.

“Bong Bong Common is now a much-loved community space, and it’s important we
support safe and efficient access for everyone who visits,” said Deputy Mayor Foley.

“This project will ease congestion, improve safety, and support the long-term vision set
out in the Bong Bong Common Masterplan.”

To support the safety of workers and motorists, works will be carried out during both day
and night shifts, with two-way traffic maintained, where possible, to minimise disruptions.

A 24-hour 40 km/h speed limit will be in place through the work zone for the duration of
the project. Council asks motorists to drive carefully, follow traffic management signs, and observe speed limits at all times.
