Wingecarribee Shire Council has approved the continuation of funding to Ngununggula
Regional Gallery for an additional five-year term, from 1 July 2028 to 30 June 2033.
Council provides an annual contribution of $500,000, with the current funding
arrangement due to expire on 30 June 2028.
The new agreement maintains this contribution for five years, providing certainty for Council and the gallery to support long-term planning. It also gives the community confidence in the continuation of arts and cultural services, while supporting the region’s visitor economy and local businesses.
The gallery operates as an independent charitable organisation, drawing on Government
grants, philanthropy, donors and earned income. Council’s contribution provides stability
within this diversified funding model, enabling Ngununggula to deliver significant cultural, social and economic outcomes well beyond the Council investment alone.
This approach provides value-for-money and reflects a deliberate partnership model for
delivering arts and cultural outcomes without direct service delivery required by Council.
