River Road Reserve on the picturesque banks of the Shoalhaven River just got better.
New play equipment has transformed the playground into a family-friendly fun zone.
As part of Council’s playground renewal program, the old equipment has had a complete revamp with new slide tower, climbing equipment, swings and rockers.
Mayor Patricia White said the new play equipment was completed just in time for the summer holidays.
“Families are always looking for fun things to do over the holidays, and I’m thrilled to see River Road Reserve transformed into a vibrant space for the community to enjoy,” said Cr White.
“The new play equipment is all about creating fun, safe, and inclusive experiences for our locals and visitors to the area,” she said.
“It’s the perfect spot for kids to play and carers to relax by the river – pack a picnic and you’ve got the perfect day out.”
In addition to landscaping, soft-fall surface and new fencing, equipment includes;
- Combination slide tower
- Climbing arch with wobble wall
- Double swing set with toddler seat and nest seat
- Voice tubes
- Balance beams and hopping logs
- Pelican rocker
- Bongo drum set
The new play equipment was informed by community feedback, with 254 visitors to the project page and 48 survey responses. Feedback included the desire for slides, climbing equipment and swings.
