Kiama Liberal Candidate Serena Copley is calling on the local Labor MP to step up and put real pressure on her own government to deliver immediate cost of living relief this Easter.
With families across the South Coast already doing it tough, Serena said more needs to be done now to ease the pressure during one of the year’s busiest travel periods.
“Families deserve a break this Easter. Instead, they are being hit with high fuel prices and rising transport costs at a time when many are simply trying to spend time with loved ones,” Serena said.
Serena, alongside NSW Liberal Leader Kellie Sloane, is calling on the NSW Government to urgently implement two practical and immediate measures, a 24-hour fuel price cap over the Easter long weekend including free public transport to help families travel safely and affordably and an immediate cut to the fuel excise
Ms Copley said NSW Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane is right to point out that many families are now rethinking what they can afford this Easter.
“Free public transport over the holiday period is a simple, practical way to help families get around, take pressure off the roads, and support local communities,” Serena noted.
She added, the local economy also depends heavily on strong holiday periods like Easter.
